General Theme: Building Intelligence Through Arts and Cultures

OBJECTIVE
The ASC CHILDREN PAINTING COMPETITION 2009 is held to stimulate the intellectual capacity n children through arts and cultures. ASC believes that the level of intellogence is formed at the early age of the a person; and arts play significant aspect in developing such intelligence to ensure the balance between the right and left hemisphere of a person’s brain which is the key in building up competencies, value creation and competitiveness in a person.

PARTICIPANT CATEGORY
The competition is open to children age 3 to 14 divided into three (3) groups: Group A (age 3-5), Group B (age 6-8), Group C (age 9-11), and Group D (age 12-14)

THEME OF THE PAINTING [CHOOSE ONE]

* Group A: My Freedom
* Group B: My Toys
* Group C: My Indonesia
* Group D: My Dreams

TERMS AND CONDITIIONS

* The painting must be an original work of the participant and never been published by all means of publication.
* The participant can only submit one painting into the competition.
* All paintings submitted for the competition will become the property of the ASC and all rights and titles, including copy rights and intellectual property rights, are reserved solely for the ASC.
* All decisions made by the ASC is final and is not subject to any challenge by third party.
* The painting must conform to the format specified for the competition with respect to the media used for the painting.
* The deadline to submit the painting is March 6, 2009 in accordance to the format specified by 5 p.m. WIB No paintings will be accepted after 5 p.m.
* All participants must submit a completed application together with the painting to enroll in the competition by courier to the ASC. The application can be downloaded at www.arysutacenter.com. No application and painting will be accepted after March 6, 2009.
* The ASC will nominee five (5) participants to determine on each Group to be selected into the three (3) finalists for the competition. A letter of nomination will be sent to the respective nominees on March 23, 2009.
* The five (5) nominees on each Group must do new painting on media provided by the ASC in front of panel of judges selected by the ASC on April 4, 2009 at the ASC Arts and Cultures Center. The panel of judges will then select three (3) finalists from the nominees.
* The three (3) finalists and the winner of the competition will be announced on April 12, 2009 at the 1st anniversary of the ASC.

AWARDS
Financial Reward: Cash
Winner: IDR 5 million
1st Runner-up: IDR 3 million
2nd Runner-up: IDR 1 million

Non-Financial Reward:
The ASC Certificate for the WInner, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up and their respective painting will be entered into the ASC Arts Exhibition 2009.

FORMAT OF THE PAINTING
The painting submitted by the participants in the competition must adhere to the following specifics; otherwise the painting will be automatically disqualified for the competition:

The painting must conform to the following format:

* Done either on canvas, paper-Marche or other media for painting with a specified size outlined herein using either charcoal/pencil, pastel, acrylic, water color, and oil-based paint.
* The size pf the painting without frame for the respective Groups must conform to the following:

* Group A: 210×300 mm
* Group B: 300×450 mm
* Group C: 300×450 mm
* Group D: 500×750 mm

# The paintings for the respective Groups must carry the specified theme accordingly.
# The painting must carry the participant’s signature.
# The front cover of the packaging for the painting must at least consist (i) the respective Group allocation; (ii) the participant’s name; and (iii) the words; "Submitted for the ASC CHILDREN PAINTING COMPETITION 2009" after the participants’ name.
